TWO NEW TOYGERS BORN ON DECEMBER 10TH 2008

1 week old Toyger

Rodeocats is proud is share that it’s Queen had two male kittens last week. The boys weight in at 134 grams and 138 grams each. The proud mother, Marilyn Monroe, is doing great.

We expected great results from this breeding and the output surpassed our expectations. The kittens are very large and have great markings. The contrast on each kitten is remarkable. It is very enjoyable to see the felines growing up so fast and strong.

TOYGERS DEBUTS AT RODEOCATS

My name is Ilana Charet and I own Rodeo Cattery located in beautiful Southern California , where I live with my family.

A few years ago we were introduced to the Toyger breed at Judy Sudgen’s cattery. We were absolutely amazed with the beauty and grace of this feline breed.

Later we find out that in addition to their sublime beauty, that the best attribute of this breed is their character. Our first cat came from EEYAA cattery and we are very grateful to Judy for this wonderful creature.

Cat breeding is a hobby for me. All our animals are our family pets and they are hand cradled from birth to better socialize them. We treat all of our cats as children. Therefore they are perfect pets for both young and old alike.

Our goal is to improve the breed and create the best cats with suburb temperament, looks, and health.

The Toyger is a designer cat. It is designed and bred with the demands of modern apartment life as a human companion foremost in mind.

Glittered, pelted, dramatic pattern appeals to both the high-tech glamour and nature-loving, wild dreams of city-caught people while the laid back, easily trained character of these cats make them a joy to live with.

The Toyger is a breed in development. Recognized by TICA for Registration Only early in the 1990′s, Preliminary New Breed in 2000 and lovely even now, the goals for the breed are long term and the prospect even more exciting! Several of the features proposed have never before been recognized as possible in a domestic cat. Progress is slow but steady in all areas from companionability to appearance. The Toyger will be showing in its new TICA status of Advanced New Breed May 2006.

TOYGER FEVER IS SPREADING

The Toyger is a house cat bred to look like a toy model of the largest member of the cat family. Some experts expect it to become one of the most sought-after cats in history—fetching prices as high as $4,000.
Kay DeVilbiss, the president of the International Cat Association, commented “They’re going to look different from [other] breeds. There’s going to be Toyger fever.”

RODEOCATS INTRODUCES THE TOYGER

Rodeocats is the premier Beverly Hills source for the Toyger breed of felines. Based in the picturesque Benedict Canyon area, Rodeocats, is the brainchild of Ilana Charet who hails from Russia.
The toyger is a breed of cat, the result of breeding domestic shorthaired tabbies (beginning in the 1980s) to make them resemble a “toy tiger”, as its striped coat is reminiscent of the tiger’s. The breed’s creator, Judy Sudgen, has stated that the breed was developed in order to inspire people to care about the conservation of tigers in the wild.

It was recognized for “Registration only” by The International Cat Association in the early 1990s, and in 2007 its status was upgraded to allow the breed full Championship status. There are several breeders in the United States, three breeders in the UK, and one in Australia working to develop the breed.

Marilyn Monroe, is the present queen of Rodeo Cats. She was paired off with one of the leading males from Judy Sudgen cattery (EEYAA). The divine MM is expecting a litter of kittens the first week of December 2008.
